FAQs

Why do people choose SMP? People that suffer from…

Male and female pattern baldness | Thinning of the hair | Alopecia | Scars
Cancer patients, providing the bridge between hair loss and regrowth

Is it painful?

While most people do not find SMP painful, there is a level of discomfort felt during the procedure, however everyone has different pain thresholds.

The live of any discomfort would be a three out of ten at most – with 10 being very painful, and 10 being very painful, and 1 being not painful at all. Some clients have also been known to fall asleep during a procedure.

How is it done?

SMP is done by a specially designed machine, that gently implants coloured pigments into the first layer of skin, to create a soft and natural look.

This is completed in 2-3 sessions, and can last up to five years!

How does it heal?

The goal with Scalp Micropigmentation is always NATURAL! The aim is to create realistic looking results… from hairline, to hair density.

The pigmantation is stable, and will not change colour over time!

What is SMP?
Scalp Micropigmentation, sometimes shortened to ‘SMP’ is a noninvasive way to restore the look of hair follicles on the scalp, to give a fuller and thicker appearance, or the look of a cleanly shaved head.

The goal of SMP isn’t to create hairlike lines as you would when micro blading eyebrows, but instead to use tiny, layered dots in different hues of black to replicate the look of a shadow on your scalp. This style, referred to as pointillism, is done to create natural-looking depth and definition.

A skilled practitioner will work to ensure the dots look like a natural hair follicle and blend in seamlessly with your complexion.
